I’ll be live-tweeting tonight’s Clippers vs Heat game….from the game itself!!!!!
Great Question.
Well, I’m pretty sure Rudy is about football and Space Jam is about basketball….since I’m more into football these days, I’m going to go with Rudy. Though, the best sports movie, in my opinion, is A League of their Own.
Rebecca Brings You The Sports! - New Years 2012
Rebecca talks about the new Houston football team, the performance quality of the Heat, and about the other sports happening right now!
“To take a knee”
when a football team gets the ball against their opponent and decides they want to end the game so that they can win; what the Dolphins did to the Jets yesterday: Taking a knee is not a nice thing to do. Finish the game you punks!

I had a realization today - sports doesn’t go on vacation during the holidays. It’s 6 days til Christmas and the sports teams aren’t putting their gear in their lockers! It all started when I heard the news about the NBA Lockout ending. They said that basketball would start up again on December 25th. “That’s intense”, I thought to myself. Then, I overheard a conversation among men where they talked about what football teams are going to be played this weekend. “This weekend!?!”, I thought to myself, “This weekend is Christmas!” And that’s when I put 1 and 1 together. There are going to be games played on TV on Christmas! Here I was, all of my life, thinking that sports players had such cool jobs - Now I realize their schedules kinda suck! Lets just say, they’re not so 9 to 5. Now I know who all of those people at Starbucks at 12 noon are - they’re sports players and comedians! (I’m currently at a Starbucks because I’m a sports reporter.)
Well, I hope you sports peeps out there have a nice holiday season! Hopefully you’ll get some rest and be able to hang out with the fam! xoxo!
Hey Anonymous! Thanks for the very sweet compliments. I hope the cheering in your head never stops.
xoxo, Rebecca
This is a fantastic situation you’re in! You’ve got a GF who loves to watch sports with you even though she has no clue what’s going on - what are you, the luckiest guy in America?!? I say you keep encouraging this kind of behavior, start a twitter account called “SportsStuffMyGFSays”, and tweet all of the ridiculous things she says while watching the game. This way her feelings won’t get hurt by you telling her she’s got no clue about sports and you’ll have a fun outlet for the insanely incorrect commentary.
Good luck and I look forward to following you on Twitter! xoxo, Rebecca
Great question!
Is there a team that sports pink? If so, that’s my favorite. As for least favorite, that would have to be the boring Broncos. Brown is not very flattering on the field. They should pep it up with a brighter combination. Wait, what are the Bronco’s colors again?

The first thing I did this morning was go on Facebook and I was met with incredible news on my newsfeed: the NBA lockout is over! I couldn’t believe it - very unexpected. One of the posts, a retweet from someone I don’t know, said that the players had reached an agreement and the season shall start on Dec. 25th! Wait, Dec 25th? That’s really annoying. They couldn’t have started Jan 1st after the holidays? I mean, they’ve already waited this long, why ruin everyones vacation plans? My guess is the NBA people are upset that they had to go through all this and are making everyone work on Christmas. I don’t know about you, but the NBA institution is starting to sound like the Grinch who stole Christmas. We get it, you want revenge! Perhaps you can be a hero and save Christmas this year by letting everyone have the day off!
Regardless, I’m happy that there will be basketball being played in the arenas and in the television screens this year. I’m sure you basketball fans out there know what I’m talking about. xoxo!
