BREAKING NEWS: I was recently informed by my dad that my family has a connection to a basketball player that plays for the Dallas team! He is number 11 and his name is JJ Barea. Apparently, my dad, his dad, and my uncle were in the swim team together in college (University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez)! This photo was taken a year after my dad graduated so unfortunately he is not pictured in a speedo, but above are Barea’s dad, Jaime (holding the trophy on the left),  and my uncle, Richard (holding the trophy on the right). TAKE  A MOMENT TO LOOK AT THIS PHOTO FROM 1982! This new information now has me torn between the two teams! I have personal connections to both of them! One is from my hometown, and the other has a player from my birth country. This is like my worst nightmare - quite the dilemma! Since both teams are currently tied in the finale, I will have to root permanently for the next team that wins. Seems fair, right?
