My friend BJ is a huge baseball fan. More specifically, a Mets/Yankees/Dodgers fan…I think. Regardless, I get a lot of my baseball info from him and his status updates/tweets. For instance:

Mets/Yanks! This is what it’s all about.
He said it - it’s all about baseball. And that’s it apparently. He’s been known to watch hours and hours of baseball…at work! Of course he’s discreet (he’s no fool) but he’s also obsessed because this is the reason for the season! All he can think about for the entire summer is getting his baseball fix. This tweet also tells me that the Mets and Yankees are the 2 teams to watch out for in baseball right now. Very interesting that they’re both from NY! Here’s another status update:

Metsplosion!!
This could mean two things. One, that there was a game happening and he felt overwhelmed with Mets enthusiasm. Or two, something big happened to the Mets that had all of the newspapers exploding with information about the team. Whatever it was, it inspired a cool new word that I will now be using: metsplosion. And there’s more, here’s a tweet:
This Dodger season has been so stressful it’s made Don Mattingly’s flavah savah turn gray
If I knew who Don Mattingly was I’m sure this post would make more sense. None the less, it’s a complex tweet about the state of the Dodger team. They’ve seen better days. They’ve had a lot of controversy this year - the owner and his wife are getting a divorce, a guy got beat up at their stadium after the season opener, they don’t win a lot of games I’m sure…a lot of controversy! In this tweet, when he says “flavah savah turn gray”, I believe he is referring to a mustache belonging to Don that now has some gray hair. Whoever Don Mattingly is, the stress from this Dodger season is making him old. Not good for Don and Dodgers fans everywhere.

Underneath it he wrote the words “My Hero”. The mets ball doll is his hero because he, like Bj, is their number one fan. It’s incredible how much baseball I’ve learned from just following @iambjgallagher! Thanks for your guidance BJ! Happy baseball summer everyone!!!
