It’s All About Lin-Sanity in the Sports World!

Jeremy Lin

There’s a phenomenon happening in the world of sports! You can’t hide from it because it’s all anyone is talking about. Recently, a basketball player by the name of Jeremy Lin was discovered. From what I hear, the course of events are as follow:

  • Jeremy Lin is born in California to Taiwanese parents
  • He goes to Harvard and plays basketball
  • He doesn’t do well playing basketball professionally
  • He moves in with his brother in NYC and sleeps on his couch
  • Somehow he’s on the Knick’s team
  • Every player that plays his position gets sick and the coach asks him to play in 1 game
  • He wows his audience and gets like 30ish points
  • The coaches are like, “What the heck?”, and they continue to put him in the games
  • The whole country is like, “What the heck?”, and they start watching the Knicks play
  • The news only talks about this guy
  • He’s single ladies!

It’s always such a pleasure to report on Cinderella stories like these. This is a young kid who was like, “Put me in coach!”, and the coach listened…finally! Now, it’s up to Jeremy to keep our attention. The pressure is really on and I totally feel for him. Hopefully he’s getting enough sleep before his games this week. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

The Basketball Season Turns Up The Heat!

Fire!

Last night, while watching The Bachelorette, I saw a commercial for something very special: The NBA Finals! The commercial specified that they are scheduled to happen tonight. TONIGHT PEOPLE! I had been wondering all Memorial Day weekend when those two final teams would duke it out. The commercial also clarified who the two teams left are. Turns out it’s between the Miami Heat and the Dallas team! So what are my predictions and how do I feel about the situation? Read on.

I couldn’t be more excited about a Miami team going to the finals…for any sport! The Heat got a lot of heat a while back because of the whole Lebron controversy. People were upset because Lebron is a good player and Dwayne Wade (who is also in the Heat) is ALSO a good player. The public felt like it wasn’t fair that T]the Heat had two good players! Well, it turns out the public was right to feel that way because they are dominating the courts right now! And it also turns out it’s not illegal to have more than one good player on a team, so BAM! Congrats to the Heat for making it to the finals.

Now about the Dallas team, I have two thoughts. #1 - They have only one good player. Nowitsky is his name. They’re already at a disadvantage. #2 - They’re the underdogs because it’s a team that just recently got good (hadn’t heard about them until now). If there’s one thing you should always keep in mind is “beware of the underdogs”. They’ll slay you when you’re not looking. So, the Heat better keep their eye on the ball!!!

All of those things said, I’m very excited to see how the heck this playoff season (that’s lasted like 3 months!) ends. The anticipation is just…gonna last until the whole thing is over.
